I can't think of a better name. My brain went kaput so that's all I could come up with xD

Today was a lazy-sick-rainy day. It wasn't a total lost cause though, because I finished this very rough "illustration" today ;P So basically this illustration is depicting characters from books “coming to life” in the readers mind as they read about and imagine them and their adventures. In a way conveying the power of the imagination, and appreciating narrative literature. I'll admit I didn't draw their bodies like that out of creativity but out of laziness... I didn't feel doing any sort of anatomy work, which I should really be working on, but I'm lazy... Plus I needed to convey that they are coming out of the book so it works.

I'm trying to work toward more illustrations rather than portraits so bear with me. xD It will get better with time. I promise. It won't suck forever.

Hehe, reminds me of Inkheart.
I have a slight suggestion. I totally get the epic laziness and tiredness and such, I'm going to be like that all month cause I'm pioneering, but anyway, as a suggestion, the characters look a bit bored. Maybe if they were in mid-action, like take a sentence of the story and have them coming from that sentence. This is a really good idea for an exercise for an artist and a writer. :D

That's a good idea xD I guess I should have done something like that. But I guess as I keep drawing, my drawings will get less and less boring and stiff, and more expressive. I tried practicing anatomy today... I cried D: its so hard! >_<
Although this picture is figurative, I totally get the Inkheart reference xD I was actually thinking about that when I was submitting this...
I did try to come up with a little story behind each character and on the pages and the words coming off I wrote random sentences that might come from the story, although they are not legible since they are so small xD But still it adds interesting detail I suppose.

The more we practice, the better we get. That's all there is to it. We just need to practice A LOT. You're doing A LOT better than I am, and if you keep it at this rate, you'll be ten times more famous than I'll ever be. :XD:

Yep practice makes perfect so I'm told... although I'm skeptical about that one....
Being famous is overrated imo. I don't really want to be famous... its dumb. But in regards to me being more famous than you? Idk bout that. Usually writers are more appreciated and famous than illustrators. You can probably name a lot of famous writers. What about illustrators? See? And remember who has the more pageviews and watchers ;) Like I said, I could care less about fame. I just want to improve a lot more, and look at my art and feel satisfied and proud of what I've created, even if no one else gives a darn.

In regards to the fame thing, I guess I only had the boundaries of deviantart in mind. Illustrators are definitely more popular here than writers. But in the outside world I guess writers are a little more appreciated. But what's a good book with colorful depictions to go along with it? I do agree that fame is overrated, and just not worth the effort. But at least feeling accomplished with yourself, that's something that's worth feeling good about.

Ok. I kinda figured you meant dA, but I wasn't sure. But yeah, dA seems to be the opposite to how it works outside world. That's probably because dA is more artist friendly than it is writer friendly. I think people on here would much rather look at a pretty picture than read literature because it takes more effort to read something... its easier to just look at the pictures, maybe a lot of people on here have short attention spans. & it doesn't help that the literature thumbnails are so boring and don't stand out... they are just.... gray.

That's true. BUT! They let you customize your literature tags, which I like, cause mine is customized with my name on it and everything. :D

That's true! I see your point. Doesn't really set each literature deviation in ones gallery apart from the other though
